Meet Our Team
Darrin Brown, Director of Technology
Darrin Brown has been studying and working in the IT field since 1984. He initially studied Engineering at the University of Alberta before transferring to Computer Systems at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.
For over 27 years, Darrin has and continues to provide IT consulting and IT services. Building on his vast array of experience and knowledge, Darrin has had in-depth involvement with Unix/Linux, Progress, and many other technologies. Darrin continues to develop in technical related areas, which includes Cloud Computing, Network Architecture, VoIP, SAN storage architecture, and system security/encryption.
Darrin makes his home in Edmonton, Alberta where he resides with his wife and four children. When he manages some free time away from work, he enjoys studying physics, photography, camping, and spending time with family and good friends.
Joan Chambers, Co-Owner
Joan Chambers has over 30 years of involvement in all aspects of the Distribution Industry from an end user perspective. She has been exposed to several different business models and operates on experience, experience, experience!
Joan’s passion lies in sharing knowledge through training and educating others in business processes, procedures, and other related subjects. Challenges are viewed as an opportunity versus a problem.
Joan resides in Edmonton, Alberta. Family and friends are extremely important to Joan and her husband, and this fits right in with their love of entertaining. When Joan is not busy with work, she enjoys a multitude of activities. High on the list are cooking, reading, redecorating, and gardening.
Oscar Perez, Director of Software Development
Oscar Perez is passionate about many things, and technology is one of them. Oscar began his career in software development over 20 years ago in the ERP field and has been a software engineer over the same time frame.
Oscar is well versed in Project Management as well as application framework and architecting solutions. The work Oscar is involved with and the work he initiates inspire him to greater heights and successful results.
Oscar holds the position of Director of Software Development with Apero Solutions Inc. and is an integral part of their four-person management team.
Oscar was a lead player in Apero’s recent mobile application “SalesXpress”. Through his knowledge and efforts and with the assistance of his valued team members, Apero proudly accepted the second place award at the Progress Exchange 2013 Mobile Application contest.
Oscar resides in Edmonton, Alberta and enjoys spending time with his family and a multitude of sport activities in his free time.
Sophy Nathanail, Co-Owner
Sophy Nathanail has over 28 years of experience in the ERP Software and Distribution Industry. Implementing software solutions in the wholesale distribution industry has taken Sophy to all corners of the world, including Australia, The Netherlands, North, South, and Central America and, of course, Canada.
Sophy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She began her career in the technology industry writing documentation, which led to roles in software testing, implementing, and ultimately designing solutions that fulfilled client business processes and software requirements.
In January of 2011, together with her partner Joan Chambers and an expert team of development and support staff, Apero Solutions Inc. was born.
Sophy resides in Calgary, Alberta with her husband Al. They love spending time with their children and their families. In her free time, Sophy is involved with numerous charities, raising funds and volunteering for women and children in need. Her current passion is the Canadian Progress Club “Elevate”, which supports local charities.
